House of Compassion (HOC) is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit social service organization servicing Angelina County. The organization was founded by Glenda Taylor, whose compassion and employment experience provided extensive knowledge of individuals enduring homelessness. HOC determined that a Transitional Living facility for “homeless families” in Angelina County would be a great benefit. The purpose of the Transitional Living facility would be to provide shelter in keeping families together. We are currently working on utilizing our Board of Directors with community support to add to our efforts to become a more valuable service to our communities and its less fortunate homeless individuals.
HOUSE OF COMPASSION was founded in 2017. To this day, we remain one of the few facilities that exclusively provide care for those who are homeless. To that end, our services are vital and fill an essential gap in our community’s safety net system.
