Our history
The vision for House of Compassion is to establish a “Transitional Living Facility” for homeless families in Angelina County and surrounding areas. HOC’s goal is to assist the homeless in becoming self-sufficient, more independent, and no longer homeless. It is our further vision that the homeless be provided with a stabilizing base and support system as they transition back into the community. Our core value is to have “Compassion” which makes a difference in the lives of individuals who are homeless. We are committed to treating the homeless with dignity and respect.
Our mission
HOC’s mission, with the Blessings and the Love of Christ, is to serve the short-term physical needs of our Lufkin neighbor in crisis due to loss of housing or basic provision.
Keys to Success
· Develop a strong, active Board of Directors that can offer guidance, help with fundraising efforts, and oversee the smooth operation of the organization.
· Ensure services to satisfy the needs of the homeless/displaced to transition back into the community WHILE DESIGNING and implementing strict financial controls and accountability
